7 Sep

Ganapati Bappa Maurya

Today is Ganesh Chaturthi - the largest religious & cultural extravaganza in Mumbai. On this day, Ganesh idols of various sizes and forms adorn decorated pandals in the streets (sponsored by local associations/merchant groups).

The celebrations starting today & accompanied with drum beats, fireworks and prayers to the Hindu god will last for 11 days ending with the immersion of Ganesh idols in the Mumbai (Arabian) sea.
